How to Stream Lossless IDAGIO Audio via DLNA (Windows & Linux)

If you are a classical music enthusiast listening to IDAGIO, you know that sound quality is non-negotiable. While IDAGIO offers a high-fidelity FLAC stream, Windows users often struggle to "cast" that lossless audio to external DLNA renderers (like a Cambridge Audio CXN or other network players).

You can use SWYH-rs, a robust, modern solution for bit-perfect streaming.

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Download & Install

  1. Navigate to the SWYH-rs GitHub repository.

  2. Scroll down to the section titled "Current Release and Binaries" and follow the instructions for your operating system.

  3. Note: Unlike the older "SWYH" app, this version launches as a standard application window rather than hiding in the system tray.

Step 2: Configure Your Network & Format

Once the app is open, verify these settings to ensure a solid connection:

  • Active Network: By default, this should select your computer’s IP address.

  • FMT (Format): Select the FLAC option.

  • Other Settings: Leave all other options at their default values.

Step 3: Select Your Audio Source (The "Pro" Setup)

To avoid Windows "dings" and system sounds mixing with your music, it is best to use a Virtual Audio Cable (VAC).

  1. Install a tool like VAC.

  2. Route Windows Audio: In the Windows taskbar, left-click on the Speaker symbol and select Line 1 (or your specific VAC device) as the Playback Device.

    • Note: Do not try to change this within the IDAGIO app settings; IDAGIO will automatically play to whatever Windows' default output is.

  3. Route SWYH-rs: In the SWYH-rs "Audio Source" menu, select Line 1. This ensures only the music is sent to your DLNA player.

Step 4: Technical Calibration (Crucial)

To ensure stability and avoid re-sampling, you should match your virtual cable to the IDAGIO stream:

  • Open your VAC configuration.

  • Set the Sample Rate to 44100 Hz and Bit Depth to 16-bit.

  • Matching these settings avoids unnecessary processing by Windows and prevents playback from stopping due to format mismatches.

Step 5: Start Streaming

  1. In the SWYH-rs interface, your DLNA-compatible devices (like the Cambridge Audio CXN) should appear.

  2. Select your device.

  3. Press play on IDAGIO and enjoy bit-perfect, lossless classical music.

If your device isn't showing up, ensure that both your Windows
laptop and your audio player are on the same Wi-Fi or Ethernet subnet.
