Streaming IDAGIO via DLNA on Windows

Bridge the gap to many hi end streamers on your Windows machine

If you are a classical music enthusiast listening to IDAGIO, you know that sound quality is non-negotiable. While Idagio offers a rich FLAC stream, Windows users often struggle to "cast" that lossless audio to external DLNA renderers (like a Cambridge Audio CXN or other network players).

You can use SWYH-rs, a robust, modern solution for bit-perfect streaming.

Why Use SWYH-rs?

  • Lossless Quality: Unlike older tools, it supports L16 (PCM) and FLAC formats.

  • Reliability: It successfully detects DLNA devices that other Microsoft Store apps often miss.

  • Open Source: Actively maintained and available for free on GitHub.

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Download the Software

Navigate to the SWYH-rs GitHub repository and download the latest release for Windows.

  2. Install and Launch

Run the application. You will typically find it sitting in your Windows System Tray (the icons near your clock).

  3. Configure for Lossless Audio

Right-click the SWYH-rs icon to access settings. Ensure your output format is set to FLAC or L/PCM 16-bit to ensure you aren't downsampling your Idagio stream to MP3.

  4. Select Your Renderer

In the "Stream to" menu, you should see a list of your network-connected devices. Select your player (e.g., Cambridge Audio CXN).

  5. Start the Music

Open the Idagio desktop app or web player and start your music. SWYH-rs captures the audio directly from your soundcard and sends it to your player.

Pro Tip: If your device isn't showing up, ensure that both your Windows
laptop and your audio player are on the same Wi-Fi or Ethernet subnet.
